March Topic

Write the text for a children's picture book. Your children's book will be about 24 pages in length so write a minimum of 12 words, no maximum. Anything goes - ABCs or 123s, colors or seasons, or create a character or two, etc. - your choice. Fiction or non-fiction. Words, phrases, sentences, or paragraphs - your choice. Poetry or prose. A possibility for those who have posted, use one of your posts as a springboard for your text. For those of you who have already (hmm?) written a picture book, feel free to post such, hopefully along with something new!

I'm hovering above my chair and I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Why? I just saw Eva's post: Pegasus is Stuck. I was thinking about this book this very morning, although I did not remember the title. It's my turn to pick a topic and the only idea that won't let me go is: Write the text for a children's picture book! If only I had confided to Flutterby - you'll just have to take my word for it! (Three copies of Journey's Out of the Body by Robert Monroe up for grabs!) I love this site because it keeps me connected to those I love, 'To Bless the Space Between Us' to borrow a title from beloved poet and author John O'Donohue.

That's wonderful. I think the Pegasus story is magnificent. Moved me to tears when I just re-read it with Eva tonight. Thanks for such a great new topic Aunt Sue. I'm sure it will bring out some great things in people. The next time you visit, we'll definitely read "Pegasus Is Stuck" together, and I'll probably cry all over again!

OK...so somehow I've never read Pegasus is Stuck and I feel like I've missed something. Cool idea, Sue, I think I can do this.

Fun! If I find the time, I'm going to illustrate mine, as well.

Don't expect anything until the end of march, though.

24 pages, eh? I should start sketching.
